Kintsugi represents the art of making visible repairs to fire-fired ceramics, using a mixture of lacquer and gold. By using gold bonding, the breaks are emphasized as part of the object's past and are not considered a flaw to be hidden, but rather a beauty and a story. Using his fascination with this unique 16th century Japanese technique, Sarkis has realized this special collection in collaboration with Bernardaud. The Kintsugi collection is an elegant and emotional series of ceramics, in which brokenness adds beauty, carries traces of the past and offers a unique aesthetic.
